The above practice session was pretty rough. It was my first time ever with those karts and on those tracks. The cold tires only made it worse. Despite recording the footage for two races, I only got the footage for the first one, and they didn't give me the footage for the second one; that was unfortunate because that second race had some footage where I was starting to get comfortable with sectors one and three. I even put some focus on practicing 'racecraft' in the second session by making some overtakes and practicing basic defense. In my first session, I learned the basics of turns one and twelve/thirteen respectively. this allowed me on turns two and three to acquire amazing built up "straight-away" speed. While that speed couldn't be used to make overtakes on turns through five because it has the same problem that Beau Rivage in Monte Carlo. While it is a straight-away, the walls bounce in and out. This speed did also added another learning curve that had to be learned going into turn five as I had acquired the speed prior to learning how to make that turn. This would negatively affect my times until lap nine of the fourth session where I would finally get the turn done well, once, and further done again, but to less of a successful extent, in turn 12 of the same fourth session.

I tracked my lap times, and analyzed them using statistics. I utilized interquartile ranges (IQR) to rule out my statistical outliers.

The first two sessions saw the most variability. It took me until session three to truly be able to maintain a few sets of steady lap times that I could gradually work on bringing down. My first turn to tackle was still turn four. In my four sessions I did get turn four twice, but I never managed to piece together more than one lap in which I got the "Scandinavian flick" correct. But the track was nice in that it focused on a number of racing principles which were good for practicing putting together good racing lines and keeping the times steady. It had a good variety of turns that required leaning in order to turn your body into the differential. The below footage is a compilation of videos that I got from the last session. Do note, the first three sessions had other people on the track, the last session had no one but myself.
